Newton Abbot Spurs Association Football Club is a football club based in Newton Abbot, Devon, England. they play in the South West Peninsula League Division One East. ==History== Founded in 1938, they were among the founding members of the South Western League in 1951. Although they only stayed in the league for two seasons, they rejoined for a longer spell in the 1960s but left again in 1971.〔(Football Club History Database )〕 After a long period in the South Devon League, they were admitted to the Devon County League in 1996, where their best position has been third place in the 1999–2000 season. Newton Abbot Spurs also have two other teams who play in the South Devon League in Division One (Newton Abbot Spurs Reserves) and Division Four (Newton Abbot Spurs Third Team). The Reserves won the Dartmouth Cup after extra time and a penalty shoot against Harbertonford in May 2010. The Third team suffered relegation to Division Four after conceding 108 goals in 26 games and going through five managers.
